We are CELEBRATING!! Why? Because we are moving!! Shortly after we got married my husband and I stumbled across this teeny tiny apartment with teeny tiny rent. At the time it was perfect. Yes, it did need some work, but we managed to update it to a livable and quite wonderful little state that we have enjoyed for going on two years. While very small, this apartment has met our needs and served its purpose during our tenancy. Over the past few months, my husband would mention, on occasion, that we should maybe look for a new apartment with a little more space. I agreed that we did, in fact, need more space as we were currently sharing a single closet, every piece of furniture has something stored underneath, and our washer and dryer tops are part of my prep area in the kitchen.
So, about a month ago, we found out that the neighboring house to one of our dear friends’ house had a vacant apartment that was being renovated. Long story short, we snagged it up, and will be moving in the next two weeks! It’s going to be a lot of work, but it is definitely going to be worth it!
The day we paid the security deposit, we decided to celebrate with champagne. My husband had heard of a man that would keep the top to the champagne bottle each time he celebrated an occasion with his wife. The man would write the date and the occasion on the top and kept them throughout their entire marriage. Todd thought this was an excellent idea, so he did the same. One day we will look back at all the champagne tops we collected and we will remember all of our special celebrations!
Wish us luck! It’s going to be a chaotic next couple of weeks, but soon we will be settled in the new place having our first house-warming party.
